Hey there!

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But we're gonna keep this real simple and straightforward. At Quindar Haven Florals, we only collect what we need to get you those gorgeous blooms, and we protect it like it's our prized heirloom rose bush. No corporate jargon, no sneaky stuff - just honest info about how we handle your data.

Alright, so here's what we need from you to make the magic happen:

  • Basic contact stuff - your name, email, phone number. Y'know, so we can actually reach you about your order.
  • Delivery details - where you want those flowers going, plus any special instructions (like "back door's easier" or "don't ring the bell, dogs will go nuts").
  • Payment info - but heads up, we don't store your full credit card numbers. That's handled by our secure payment processor.
  • Order history - helps us remember if you loved those peonies last spring or if you're more of a wildflower person.
  • Website cookies - just the technical stuff to keep the site running smooth and remember your preferences.

We're not out here collecting anything weird or unnecessary - just what we need to serve you better.

Pretty straightforward, actually:

  • Process your orders - kinda the whole point, right? We use it to fulfill your flower requests and get 'em to you fresh.
  • Keep you posted - order confirmations, delivery updates, that sort of thing. Nobody likes wondering where their bouquet's at.
  • Send occasional updates - if you're cool with it, we'll let you know about seasonal blooms, special deals, or new services. But only if you want us to!
  • Improve our service - understanding what folks love helps us stock the right flowers and tweak our offerings.
  • Handle issues - if something goes wrong (hey, it happens), we need your info to make it right.

That's it. We're not doing anything shady with your data - just running a flower shop and trying to do it well.

Short answer: not really, but there are a couple exceptions where we gotta:

  • Delivery partners - obviously, if we're delivering flowers, our drivers need to know where they're going. But they only get what's necessary.
  • Payment processors - these are the secure services that handle transactions. They've got their own tight security protocols.
  • Email services - we use email platforms to send you updates, but they're bound by strict privacy agreements.
  • Legal requirements - if the law says we gotta hand something over, we will. But this is super rare.

We absolutely DO NOT sell your info to third parties. That's a hard line for us. Your data isn't a commodity - you're a customer, not a product.

We take security pretty seriously around here:

  • SSL encryption - that little padlock in your browser? Yeah, your data's encrypted when it travels to us.
  • Secure servers - we use reputable hosting with solid security measures. Your info isn't sitting on some dusty old laptop in the back room.
  • Limited access - only team members who actually need access to do their jobs can see your data.
  • Regular updates - we keep our systems patched and up-to-date to stay ahead of vulnerabilities.
  • PCI compliance - for payment stuff, we follow industry standards that are way stricter than we could explain here.

Look, no system is 100% hack-proof (anyone who says otherwise is lying), but we do everything in our power to keep your data locked down.

Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. Here's what we use 'em for:

  • Essential cookies - these keep the website functioning. Shopping cart, login sessions, that sort of thing. Can't really turn these off or the site won't work.
  • Preference cookies - remember your settings so you don't have to keep re-entering stuff.
  • Analytics cookies - help us understand how people use the site so we can make it better. All anonymous data, nothing personal.

Most browsers let you control cookies in their settings if you wanna adjust things. Just know that blocking all cookies might make some features wonky.

We don't use tracking cookies for advertising. We're not following you around the internet - that's creepy.

Absolutely, and no hard feelings.

Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it, you're done. Takes like two seconds.

Just keep in mind:

  • You'll still get order-related emails (confirmations, delivery updates, receipts) because those are kinda necessary.
  • If you've got a subscription box with us, you'll still get those service emails too.
  • Unsubscribing from marketing stuff won't affect your account or orders in any way.

Wanna come back later? Just opt back in through your account settings or drop us a line.

Under Canadian privacy laws (specifically PIPEDA), you've got some solid rights:

  • Access - you can ask to see what data we have on you. We'll show you.
  • Correction - if something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion - want us to delete your account and data? We can do that (though we might need to keep some stuff for legal/tax reasons).
  • Portability - you can get a copy of your data in a usable format.
  • Objection - you can object to certain types of processing if you've got good reason.

To exercise any of these rights, just reach out to us at blooms@quindarhaven.info or give us a call at (604) 555-7293. We'll get back to you within a reasonable timeframe.

We're not gonna make you jump through hoops or give you the runaround. Your data, your rights.

Good question. Here's the breakdown:

  • Active customers - as long as you're ordering from us, we keep your info current so things run smoothly.
  • Inactive accounts - if you haven't ordered in a few years, we might reach out to see if you wanna stay on our list. No response? We'll eventually remove your data.
  • Order records - we keep these for about 7 years for accounting and tax purposes. Canadian law requires it.
  • Marketing lists - if you unsubscribe, you're off the list pretty much immediately.

We don't hold onto stuff longer than we need to. Once data's served its purpose and we're not legally required to keep it, it gets deleted.

Our services aren't really aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from kids.

If you're a parent and you think your child's given us their info, please let us know ASAP and we'll delete it right away.

That said, ordering flowers for mom's birthday? Totally cool, just make sure a grown-up's handling the transaction.

Look, things change. Laws get updated, we might add new services, technology evolves. So yeah, we might need to update this privacy policy from time to time.

When we do make changes:

  • We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
  • For major changes, we'll send you an email heads-up
  • We'll never make changes that reduce your rights under the current policy without your explicit consent

It's worth checking back here occasionally, but we're not gonna pull any fast ones on you.

Canadian Privacy Standards

We comply with PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and all applicable BC privacy regulations. Your data's protected under some of the strictest privacy laws in the world.

Questions? Just Ask

This stuff can be confusing, and that's okay. If you've got questions about your privacy or how we handle data, don't hesitate to reach out. We're happy to explain things in plain English.
